1. Introduction

Welcome to Yomiru, an open-source Android application for tracking anime and manga, built by Dirza Aulia ("we", "us", or "our"). Yomiru connects to the AniList platform to allow users to view, track, search, and manage their anime and manga lists.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and disclosure when you use the Yomiru Android application.

2. Information Collection and Use

Yomiru does not operate any private backend servers to collect, store, or sell your personal data.

When you use Yomiru, data is processed in the following manner:

• AniList Account Data: If you choose to log in with your AniList account, authentication is performed directly with AniList via OAuth implicit grant protocol. Your account credentials (username, email, password) are never seen or stored by Yomiru.
• Access Tokens: Upon authentication, an OAuth access token is issued directly by AniList to your device. This token is stored locally on your device in secure storage (Android DataStore) and is used exclusively to make authorized GraphQL API calls to AniList on your behalf.
• Media & List Data: Your anime/manga lists, progress, ratings, and reviews are queried and updated directly with AniList.co servers.
• Local Application Settings: Your UI preferences (such as dark mode, grid view settings, and search filters) are stored locally on your device.

3. Application Permissions

Yomiru requests only the minimal permissions necessary to function properly:

• Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to communicate with the AniList GraphQL API and load anime/manga cover images, characters, and media details.

4. Third-Party Services

Yomiru integrates with third-party services that have their own independent privacy policies:

• AniList API: All user tracking data, media information, and user account profiles are stored and managed by AniList. Please refer to the AniList Privacy Policy & Terms for details on how AniList processes your data.
• Coil (Image Caching Library): Used to fetch and cache cover images locally on your device for performance and offline viewing. No personal tracking is conducted through image loading.

5. Data Retention and Security

Because Yomiru does not collect or store your personal data on external servers, all session tokens and user settings remain strictly on your local device. You can erase all locally stored data at any time by clearing the application's data in Android Settings or logging out from within the Yomiru app.

6. Children's Privacy

Yomiru does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to AniList or through the app, please refer to AniList's terms or contact us to assist in removing any local data.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any updates.
